Hear and obey

Deuteronomy 28:1
Blessings for Obedience
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.

This promise starts off with ‘if you fully obey,’ that means you are aware of Him and since we can’t obey until we know what He is saying, that means we can hear Him speak to us in a way that we can understand. For the new Christian, this is through the Bible and God’s anointed servants… Preachers and teachers.

We don’t have to know everything to enter into a covenant with the Lord. We have to obey what we know.

Today there are two commandments that we must obey:

  1. Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your understanding,…
  2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

The promise is simple:

The Lord will set you high above all the nations. Simply stated: You are no longer bound to the kingdom of darkness. You are now a citizen of heaven and the Lord has made a covenant with you.

The way to start this covenant with Him on a personal level is very simple also. You bow your head ask Him to be a part of the covenant and participate fully with him while walking on this earth. He has already made all the provisions… But together you learn to walk it out.
