Grandma on Scribes
Hey

The Lord gave me a word and vision to tell me what He wanted. I knew it was Him, and knew a little of what He meant. But, when I was reading on Sandy Warner’s new board that her mother is a prophetic scribe by calling, I felt it to be good with the Lord to ask some questions for further understanding.

Below are the emails that Sandy’s mother and I wrote back and forth, edited just a bit for forum posting of instruction.
I know there are others who are called to be ‘prophetic scribes’ and I pray that this will help you to better understand also.

God be praised in all things.

This post is from back in 2004

Grandma Anna,

I am seeking a fuller understanding concerning my call. If you will indulge me, I will post what I received from the Lord a couple of weeks ago.

Vision:
In the Spirit, I saw a man standing front of me holding a thick book about 3/4 of the way open.
He was dressed in a white robe (like a bishop, or Presbyterian minister would wear).
As he read it was revealed to me that he was reading:

Jer 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
Jer 12:6 For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee

Next scene:

I saw two swords swooshing through the air. One of the swords was just off of hot coal and still glowed red at the tip.
I heard, “The one from the fire is revelation.”
I then saw the sword be wiped down with a soft cloth, and near the handle, I could see the word “Eagle” being spray painted on it.

The other sword was also wiped with a cloth and along the edge, a black marker was used to draw a line just above the bottom cutting edge. I understood this sword to be “Logos.”

Then I saw the outer edge of the earth’s atmosphere glowing as a ring of fire.
I heard, “That is the home of the flaming sword.”

Next:

Then I saw a scribe dressed like in the colonial days, complete with his white wig and brown waist length cloak. He road on a brown horse going through an old colonial town with cobblestone roads.
I knew that he was from the king’s court.

It was revealed to me that he had been summoned. He was carrying a letter to an appointment of office. I could see the parchment in his hand that was to be handed to the door-keeper or one in charge upon arival. As he entered, I could see an old desk with an ink well and quill pen. He handed a parchment to the head of the council, and shook his hand. Then he was shown his desk.
I heard, “What is written here is performed on earth. The pen is a sword. The tip of the pen controls the tip of the sword.”

Then I heard: “Hear ye. Hear ye. Hear ye. Write what you see.”

End of the vision set

I felt that I knew that I was being told that I should write, as a scribe, what I see. Often over the past two years or so I see a quill writing on some kind of parchment.

If you have some quickend insight for me, I would be grateful for more and deeper understanding. If not, then I know the wisdom given to keep a dated journal will eventually give me more and clearer understanding.

I have been journaling ‘my life’ with Him for about seven years, but to go back and try to find any particular dream or vision would be a grand task. I am setting my determination to making a better organized journal where I can find things.

Thank you
And God Bless You

From: The Quickened Word

Recently I received an email asking for a definition of prophetic scribes and I thought there might be others of you wondering the same thing.

Prophetic scribes are intercessors with revelatory gifts who are also the Holy Spirit’s secretaries. (Smile) They write in a dated journal what the Holy Spirit personally speaks through their rhema, dreams, visions, trances and anything else that is quickened in all the other many ways there are to hear Him. They pray over what they hear in the spirit, and stand in faith believing the Lord to bring it about. At times, they are called to share what they hear with the body of Christ. I personally have been keeping a journal since the 1970’s. Much of what the Holy Spirit foretold has happened. I am eagerly waiting to see the rest of it unfold.

NKJ Matthew 13:52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe <1122> instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

1122 grammateu,j grammateus {gram-mat-yooce’}
Meaning: 1) a clerk, scribe, esp. a public servant, secretary, recorder, whose office and influence differed in different states 2) in the Bible, a man learned in the Mosaic law and in the sacred writings, an interpreter, teacher. Scribes examined the more difficult and subtle questions of the law; added to the Mosaic law decisions of various kinds thought to elucidate its meaning and scope, and did this to the detriment of religion. Since the advice of men skilled in the law was needed in the examination in the causes and the solution of the difficult questions, they were enrolled in the Sanhedrin; and are mentioned in connection with the priests and elders of the people. See a Bible Dictionary for more information on the scribes. 3) a religious teacher: so instructed that from his learning and ability to teach advantage may redound to the kingdom of heaven
Origin: from 1121; TDNT – 1:740,127; n m
Usage: AV – scribe 66, townclerk 1; 67

(Biblesoft’s New Exhaustive Strong’s Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

NKJ Mark 4:24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.

A PROPHETIC SCRIBE MORE CLEARLY DEFINED

The vision Stacie had above gave her a strong Word about being a prophetic scribe. A prophetic scribe’s role includes being an intercessor. The two roles blend into one. All of God’s people are supposed to be intercessors and should keep a record of what God says to them, but not all receive the calling of a prophetic scribe.

FROM VISION: “I saw two swords swooshing through the air. One of the swords was just off of hot coal and still glowed red at the tip. I heard, “The one from the fire is revelation.”
~~~
All callings receive various gifts to carry out their roles and a prophetic scribe’s main gift is revelation. It comes as pearls from God, by way of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit teaches what part of His revelation to share and what part not to share. They learn to keep much of it between themselves and the Lord. Mistakes are often made, but the mistakes becomes a training ground to become a more wise and careful scribe. I have made many mistakes over the years. (Smile)
Taking me as an example, much of what I hear is at night upon my bed. For years, I wrote in the dark. I often had a difficult time reading my writing! (Smile) Now, I keep a pocket recorder under my pillow. I am naturally a heavy sleeper, but I have trained myself to wake up enough to record what I hear and see. I do not do this easily. It takes a very strong motivation for me to wake up, often many times during the night. I usually receive only one line at a time and have no idea what I heard previously. When I listen to my recorder the next morning, invariably I am amazed and thrilled with what He said and how one line builds upon another.
I also note the clock times and record them. I have always looked up the clock numbers in Strong’s Hebrew and Greek concordance. It is amazing how parts or all of the definitions are quickened to me and add such a depth to the rhema. I used to use a huge book of Strong’s. Now that I have a pocket recorder and have the Bible and Strong’s on my computer, it is so much easier!
I take the rhema Word of the Lord deeply into my heart. I stand firm in faith when given pearls of revelation, with the enemy darts of doubt and unbelief pulverized under my feet.
NKJ Ephesians 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Love for Him is my controlling motive. My heart beats for Him. In turn, the Holy Spirit reveals His own loving heart to me and confides His mysteries.
Ambition and striving is not an option for me. Neither is carnality. The chastening hand of the Lord is always upon me to help me put down my flesh. I personally have grown to love His chastening. Through the chastening, I have grown into being a friend of God and knowing Him intimately.
NKJ Job 5:17 ” Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
There is such a security in knowing what is wrong and then doing what is right; knowing that each corrected step perfects more of my character towards becoming mature in Him.
KJV Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Prophetic scribes pray consistently in tongues. NKJ 1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all;” NKJ 1 Corinthians 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Through tongues, they speak mysteries to God. NKJ 1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
Prophetic intercessors pray into the heavenly realms for God to do exactly as He said and to fulfill all He has promised for His creation on earth. When they write His Word, they are helping to bring in His Kingdom; they are declaring and prophesying it into existence. They stand strong against all the ploys of the enemy.
NKJ Ephesians 6:17-18” And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”
FROM VISION: “I then saw the sword be wiped down with a soft cloth,”
Swords speak of the Word of God, which is the tool of warfare in intercession. In the wielding of the sword of the Lord, all mixture is to be wiped off. The soul is not to add or subtracted from His Word. The Word interprets itself. None of us are to function through our own will; rather we are to function through God’s will. Doing otherwise is known as Christian witchcraft, which is the abuse of the authority we all have as Christians.
FROM VISION: “and near the handle, I could see the word “Eagle” being spray painted on it.”
Prophetic scribes have the characteristics of eagles. They live in the heavenly realm and soar above the circumstances. When their eyes are drawn to the prey, they swiftly descend to do battle. Battle means binding and loosing and standing strong in faith against all attempts of the enemy to bring fear and doubt and “having done all, to stand!” Christ gave us the power to bind and loose what has already been bound and loosed in heaven. We just activate it on earth.
YLT Matthew 16:19 and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.’
The above is from Young’s Literal Translation. There were no commas in the original Greek. JP Green Interlineal Bible says the same thing, but places commas after the words “shall be.”
FROM VISION: The other sword was also wiped with a cloth and along the edge, a black marker was used to draw a line just above the bottom cutting edge. I understood this sword to be “Logos.”
KJV Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
LOGOS:
3056 lo,goj logos {log’-os}
Meaning: 1) of speech 1a) a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea 1b) what someone has said 1b1) a word 1b2) the sayings of God 1b3) decree, mandate or order 1b4) of the moral precepts given by God 1b5) Old Testament prophecy given by the prophets 1b6) what is declared, a thought, declaration, aphorism, a weighty saying, a dictum, a maxim 1c) discourse 1c1) the act of speaking, speech 1c2) the faculty of speech, skill and practice in speaking 1c3) a kind or style of speaking 1c4) a continuous speaking discourse – instruction 1d) doctrine, teaching 1e) anything reported in speech; a narration, narrative 1f) matter under discussion, thing spoken of, affair, a matter in dispute, case, suit at law 1g) the thing spoken of or talked about; event, deed 2) its use as respect to the MIND alone 2a) reason, the mental faculty of thinking, meditating, reasoning, calculating 2b) account, i.e. regard, consideration 2c) account, i.e. reckoning, score 2d) account, i.e. answer or explanation in reference to judgment 2e) relation, i.e. with whom as judge we stand in relation 2e1) reason would 2f) reason, cause, ground 3) In John, denotes the essential Word of God, Jesus Christ, the personal wisdom and power in union with God, his minister in creation and government of the universe, the cause of all the world’s life both physical and ethical, which for the procurement of man’s salvation put on human nature in the person of Jesus the Messiah, the second person in the Godhead, and shone forth conspicuously from His words and deeds.
FROM VISION: Then I saw the outer edge of the earth’s atmosphere glowing as a ring of fire. I heard, “That is the home of the flaming sword.”
KJV Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
KJV John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
The Word of God is God, and He is the flaming sword that covers the very atmosphere of earth and by which it was spoken into being.
FROM VISION: “I heard, “What is written here is performed on earth. The pen is a sword. The tip of the pen controls the tip of the sword.”
KJV Psalm 45:1 To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
Stacie heard, “The pen is a sword. The tip of the pen controls the tip of the sword. Or as the Word says in Psalm 45, “the pen of a ready writer.” They both say the same thing. (Smile)
FROM VISION: Then I heard: “Hear ye. Hear ye. Hear ye. Write what you see.”
Regardless of our various callings, it is good for all of us Christians to enter our rhema on our computers and keep it backed up with a printed copy. I realize it is a monumental task. It was and is for me! (Smile) Nevertheless, it is worth all the time it takes. Then we can easily do searches on words themes etc.
Keeping a journal gives each of us a wonderful record to keep us on the narrow path. It is also a safeguard against deception. The enemy loves to bring confusion and doubt, but if God’s plan is there in black and white it stops the enemy in his tracks. It also ends the confusion of well meaning leaders who want us to pursue a plan contrary to what we have heard. The Lord’s plan for our lives builds carefully and consistently from one-step to another. His plan is easy to follow if there is a record of all the past steps. For example, I heard in the 1980’s that I would be ministering internationally. I could not begin to imagine how that would ever come about. Yet by following this theme through my rhema, I was able to flow into this international ministry.
I also suggest that anyone who is serious about this calling of a prophetic scribe read Rees Howeels Intercessor by Noman Grubb. It has been a wonderful instructor for me since the mid 80’s.
MY PARAPHRASE: ‘May the LORD bless you (all) and protect you (in each of your callings). May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you . May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24 -26 NLT)
Love,
Grandma Anna
Perfect timing and confirmation…
Prophetic Utterance through Bill Burns
November 2, 2005: Do you hear the sound of the rising of the eagles? This is the season of the bringing forth of My eagles, says the Lord. It is time to arise to your destiny, to soar on the wings of revelation, to come before My throne of glory. Yes, I say, even with boldness you will arise in this hour to your destiny and to have the revelation and the understanding of your purpose in the earth at this time. I am the Lord of glory, and I have a chosen generation of royal priests, a glorious Church which is about to come forth in righteousness. Come forth, My people, and arise to your position of destiny. Understand who you are, and shake off the dust of regret. Come forth in expectation of the greatness that has been predestined. Arise now from your slumber; arise now from your complacency; arise now from condemnation. Arise and strengthen the hands that hang down in weakness; strengthen the feebleness of your knees. Stand before Me and listen for the sound of the trumpet, for I have declared war against My enemy. I have anointed you for battle and raised you up for such a time as this and to bring destruction to those who are against Me and that My Father may be glorified and honored and that His will be done on the earth as it is written, says the Lord.
KJV Psalm 45:1 To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
Stacie heard, “The pen is a sword. The tip of the pen controls the tip of the sword. Or as the Word says in Psalm 45, “the pen of a ready writer.” They both say the same thing. (Smile)
FROM VISION: Then I heard: “Hear ye. Hear ye. Hear ye. Write what you see.”
Regardless of our various callings, it is good for all of us Christians to enter our rhema on our computers and keep it backed up with a printed copy. I realize it is a monumental task. It was and is for me! (Smile) Nevertheless, it is worth all the time it takes. Then we can easily do searches on words themes etc.
Keeping a journal gives each of us a wonderful record to keep us on the narrow path. It is also a safeguard against deception. The enemy loves to bring confusion and doubt, but if God’s plan is there in black and white it stops the enemy in his tracks. It also ends the confusion of well meaning leaders who want us to pursue a plan contrary to what we have heard. The Lord’s plan for our lives builds carefully and consistently from one-step to another. His plan is easy to follow if there is a record of all the past steps. For example, I heard in the 1980’s that I would be ministering internationally. I could not begin to imagine how that would ever come about. Yet by following this theme through my rhema, I was able to flow into this international ministry.
I also suggest that anyone who is serious about this calling of a prophetic scribe read Rees Howeels Intercessor by Noman Grubb. It has been a wonderful instructor for me since the mid 80’s.
MY PARAPHRASE: ‘May the LORD bless you (all) and protect you (in each of your callings). May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you . May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24 -26 NLT)
Love,
Grandma Anna
Prophetic Utterance through Bill Burns
November 2, 2005: Do you hear the sound of the rising of the eagles? This is the season of the bringing forth of My eagles, says the Lord. It is time to arise to your destiny, to soar on the wings of revelation, to come before My throne of glory. Yes, I say, even with boldness you will arise in this hour to your destiny and to have the revelation and the understanding of your purpose in the earth at this time. I am the Lord of glory, and I have a chosen generation of royal priests, a glorious Church which is about to come forth in righteousness. Come forth, My people, and arise to your position of destiny. Understand who you are, and shake off the dust of regret. Come forth in expectation of the greatness that has been predestined. Arise now from your slumber; arise now from your complacency; arise now from condemnation. Arise and strengthen the hands that hang down in weakness; strengthen the feebleness of your knees. Stand before Me and listen for the sound of the trumpet, for I have declared war against My enemy. I have anointed you for battle and raised you up for such a time as this and to bring destruction to those who are against Me and that My Father may be glorified and honored and that His will be done on the earth as it is written, says the Lord.
