Have you ever walked through a crowd and got a glimpse of somebody who appears to be strong, self-confident, and then shiver within yourself that you're glad you don't have to verbally spar with that person?
Or perhaps you've heard a public speaker with a strong voice and stern look in his eye as he presented his case before that congregation or public gatherings. Perhaps this person set a shiver down your back and you were grateful that you were not called to spar with him face-to-face over a topic that would be hard to prove without someone believing and having faith.
That is sort of what happen with the 10 spies that had a bad report after being sent out to spy out the land. They had seen something that made them feel small as a grasshopper and they were intimidated by it. They couldn't see the extra power on their side, and his name was God. They were thinking logically and of all the work and the pain that would take to beat down such a people and take that land, but they didn't consider God.
Next time you see somebody that intimidates you, and you feel that shutter go down your back, remember God is your deciding factor. Hold your shoulders back and keep your chin tucked in, and go forward in His wisdom, grace, and favoring presence. God is with you ... who can defeat you?
