Sins of the Mouth That Hinder

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; —1 Peter 1:15

Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. —James 4:11, NKJV

Evil speaking is also known by ancient rabbis as the “third tongue” because it destroys the speaker. It destroys the one spoken to, and it destroys the one spoken about. It brings great defilement. Joyner: Can’t hide it, the Prophet sees

The prophets under the Old Covenant were known even throughout the heathen nations around Israel, and it was told to their heathen kings that nothing could be hidden from these prophets, even what the kings spoke in their innermost chambers.
